Operated by luxury accommodation specialists Elewana Afrika, Tarangire Treetops is located in a private game reserve a fair drive from the entrance to Tarangire National Park. The camp offers guests a once in a lifetime experience, sleeping in the treetops of ancient Baobab trees.
Accommodation at Tarangire Treetops
The lodge is made up of twenty large suites that hang in the treetops with views of the stars. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated and the en suite bathrooms are a good size and quite luxurious (especially considering they are in a tree!). Rooms include private balconies with excellent views.
Rooms have been decorated in neutral colours. Natural materials have been included in the manufacture of furnishings and fittings. This helps the rooms blend into their habitat.
Food and Drink at Tarangire Treetops
The hotel’s restaurant area is large and open-sided allowing for good views over the Tarangire Treetops’ pool and a watering hole occasionally frequented by various game.
Bush breakfasts and champagne bush breakfasts are available as well as sundown cocktails on the hillsides with or without a selection of snacks. Barbeques are often arranged by the hotel as well as campfires around which guests can enjoy a drink or even toast some marshmallows.

Things to do at Tarangire Treetops
The Treetops benefits from its proximity to wildlife as well as the private nature of the reserve it is on. It is possible to take advantage of these facts and arrange walking safaris (a welcome respite from time on the road). Night game drives are also on offer which many guests find particularly exciting.
However, the lodge is some distance from the local national park and other sights. The drive (especially in rainy season) can become very tiresome.
The lodge has a pleasant swimming pool. Entertainments from local Maasai tribes are often given, as well as cultural talks.
